Who am I?
Gavin Harding, married to Caroline for 25 years, 23 of those in Marlborough where we have raised our family.
I have extensive knowledge regarding building and its regulations having been in the building industry since leaving school. I have built residential and commercial, worked frame & truss, installed plasterboard as a specialty. I have nearly a decade of working for Marlborough District Council in their Building Control team processing consent applications, conducting site inspections and was assigned the Territorial Authority function of auditing pool fences as per the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987 (now part of the Building Code F9). I continue to process building consents remotely which keeps me up to date with any changes to the Building Code (such as recent insulation changes to H1) or manufacturers specifications for products/systems.
I have a National Diploma in Small Building Surveying as well as National Certificates in Frame and Truss Manufacture, I have recently completed the Forensic Building Surveying units on my way to becoming a registered Building Surveyor.
I am a member of BOINZ, a trainee member of New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors.
I have Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Internet Liability insurance for your peace of mind and mine.
